WELCOME

We've now got some land in the family and I'm moving the urban mushroom farm there to use as the foundation of a mutligenerational permaculture farm. Here's where we're starting from, my mum Sylvia has made the jaw droppingly brilliant decision of getting some land for the purpose of ensuring every one of our family members and those to come have access to nature and a place to ensure their food supply. We're big into permaculture, we want to build a food forest. Our land consists of 5 hectares of grass feilds that were used for grazing sheep and cutting hay, their biodiversity is low but we're on a path to changing that. The plan is to reforrest almost all of the area using both native and international edible tree species so that we can ensure continued food production in our changing climate.

Here's where the mushrooms come in, they're a great source of food, most of the best ones grow on hardwood trees or from this sawdust. So we need lots of trees to grow them off. I'm thinking long term and here's what I'm doing, I'll be planting as many different nuts, mostly acorns everywhere i can, I'll be putting in as many as i can get hold of. the oak trees that have self seeded on our land are doing the best out of any other trees compared to the ones we've planted when come to the drought we've experienced.  need their shade and their biomass.
